Online purchases refer to using a Tweeq card to make payments for goods or services over the internet using a computer or mobile device.

The Online Purchase payment can be made using the following:

1. 3D Secure online payments refer to an online purchase transaction where customers enter their card information into a website or mobile app and confirm their identity using a one-time passcode sent to their mobile phone. The payment is processed only after the correct passcode is entered.

2. Apple Pay Apple Pay is a digital wallet and mobile payment service that allows customers to make payments using their iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. The service is designed to simplify the payment process by enabling customers to make payments using their device rather than using a physical card or entering the card details into a website.

Tweeq mada card

Within mada network:

You can make an online payment using mada with any merchant that accepts mada, whether the online store is in Saudi Arabia or outside Saudi Arabia. If the online merchant accepts mada, No fee will be applied.

Example:
A customer uses a Tweeq card to purchase from a Kuwaiti online store in Kuwaiti dinar, where Mada is accepted. No currency conversion or international transaction fees (OIF) are charged by Tweeq for transactions via Mada or the Gulf Payment Network (GCC), similar to a purchase within Saudi Arabia.

Fluctuating exchange rates, set by the central bank (not Tweeq), may cause minor variations in deducted amounts for transactions at different times. Additional charges imply processing through the Mastercard network, determined by the merchant's payment gateway, not Tweeq.

Within Mastercard network:

Mastercard is an international network that processes transactions globally. Fees will be applied to all online transactions processed using Mastercard, whether for online stores in Saudi Arabia or outside Saudi Arabia.

Fees structure: International transaction fees 1.7% + 15% VAT on the Fees will be applied

Example: Online Payment from an international store - 100 euro

1. The customer does a transaction with the amount of 100 Euro

2. Mastercard conversion Rate of 100 Euro = 400 SAR *just an example

3. Fees = (1.7% out of 400 MC Converge Rate) 0.025 x 400 = 10 SAR

4. VAT on the Fees: (15% out of fees): 0.15 x 10 = 1.5 SAR

5. Total Amount deducted from Customer: 400 + 10 + 1.5 = 411.5 SAR

Purchases Inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Online purchases in Saudi Arabia are exempt from fees. No additional charges are applied to the transaction amount.

Purchases Outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Online purchases outside Saudi Arabia (including Gulf countries) are processed through the MasterCard payment network. They are subject to the following fees: International transaction fees of 2.5% of the total amount (after converting the amount to Saudi Riyal) + 15% Value Added Tax on the imposed fees.
